:: Putting my first footprint ::

Assalamualaikum to all my readers.

This weekend, we all are going to Pangkor Island to conduct an orientation course for the newcomers a.k.a. juniors SLASH freshmen. This outdoor event is organized by the student's association of my course, named MELTECH. If you don't know what MELTECH is, that means either you're new to this blog or you totally don't care about what I'd written here. Go check this out.

About 100 students are going to participate in this annual event and I'm excited because I've never been to Pangkor Island before and this time, I'm going there with my friends so, apart from being rejoiced by the activities that we are going to do there, I'm also feel extremely overwhelm to put my first footprint there. I've already made list of things that I need to bring. Haha. Can't wait.

About the event, it is named MELTECH Scene Investigation (MSI) Volume 2 and we feel like to keep that name as the official name for our orientation course since it's done annually. Usually the event takes place somewhere in Selangor or Kuala Lumpur but this year, we feel like doing something big, something different and memorable for those newcomers (and also for us, the organizer) so we chose Pangkor Island as the venue. Since this is the first time we're doing this outside of Selangor, our concern are totally on the security aspect and the welfare of all the students who join. We really hope that everything is going to go as planned and may Allah save us from any harm before, during and after the event. Finger crossed! :)

:: The togetherness ::

Assalamualaikum to all my readers.

Happy Sunday guys!

Last night was a hell of a night. That is, my class had an open house and we decided to make a potluck open house. So the event took place at my house and we started setting up the place right after Asar because we need to get the barbecue place ready, so that people can start digging in before midnight.

There was a lot of food prepared by us and we ate like there is no tomorrow. Haha. Honestly, I like doing this kind of stuff, you know, make lots of food and have people come by because it's really lot of fun. Well, to show you how fun we were, these photos will prove it to you guys.

:: Make use of the experience ::

Assalamualaikum to all my readers.

~ A microscope is medical lab technologists' best friend ~

The new semester has begun, which marks my 5th semester this year. I still have two more years to finish my life as a degree student and it won’t hard to make you believe how fun and stress out student life can be.

From 5 subjects that I’m taking this semester, two of them are subjects that I’m already familiar with, thanks to my diploma years. My expectation towards these subjects is high because first, I already knew what the subjects have to offer. Second, I don’t wanna look stupid by failing the class that I already took during my diploma years. It’s gonna be interesting to see whether or not I can make use of my experience and knowledge for both of this classes.

I’ll be keeping my finger crossed. Help me Ya Allah. ;D

:: Teaching UPSR candidates ::

Salam to all readers.

There is something apart from myself telling me that I wanna be an educator when I grow up. The funny thing is, I haven't aware of this until I realize how tough this world can be if you don't have solid vision in life and that happen after I graduated from high school. My mom had told me hundreds of time to enrol in any Institut Perguruan in Malaysia but I refused because I thought being an educator was not going to make me rich. That was because I didn't see the big picture and now, I kinda regret for not following her advice.

So, after all this years, an opportunity to become an educator suddenly reappeared and came to me. My former headmistress had invited me and my friends to be Assistant Teacher (not teachers' assistant) for a day and obviously it involved teaching. The objective of this program is to help students who has not doing a good job with Maths and give them a personal tutor. 10 volunteers, including me, had joined the program the students seemed delighted to see their seniors and shared some of our stories during our days in the school with them.

We were sitting opposite them, on the stage, beautifully decorated and introduced ourselves one by one as well as telling them the proper way of studying and how to focus in the Maths subject. To be honest, I was quite nervous talking in front of them, mostly because I didn't expect to give a speech. I thought we were gonna come and just get into the class but apparently not. I tried to crack a few jokes but I thought I was making fool of myself. After a terrifying welcoming speech, we helped the teachers giving out questions papers and walked around the hall to see if somebody needs our help. A student suddenly called upon me. I walked toward him and asked what he didn't understand. To my surprise, he actually couldn't read, let alone to count.

 ~ The UPSR candidates ~

 ~ Me and my friend standing in front of a class ~

I didn't panic, astonishingly, and thought to myself, it's time to get my hand dirty. I taught him to understand what's the question want and I taught him how to count. Seriously, it was like teaching a kindergarten student. When I let him do the next question, he was struggling with the words. I saw him staring at the question paper and I was touched. To see him in that state, few months before the UPSR exam was really unbelievable. Don't know how he's gonna pull it off during the exam. I wish him good luck. He really needs it.

To me, this experience is priceless. Not only is it brought memories but also it motivated me in some kinda ways. I really wanna help them but we were running out of time and hope that the teachers could do something like this more often. I wanna give back to the school which has make me a person I am today.

:: a mixture of singers and models ::

Salam to all my readers.

Sorry for the long hiatus. Been busy with my final exams and had not have any ideas to update. But today is different. For this semester, I only need to sit for 3 papers for the final and two has passed urmm, not very nicely. I screwed up one paper and I believe that I am not gonna do well this semester. Well, since when I go out of the exam hall with a happy face. *sigh.

Okay, lets talk about something else, but seriously, I keep thinking I am going to f*il this paper today. God, I am so scared! The carry mark for the final is only 30% but the one that determine whether I am going to f*il or not is final practical exam, which went, urmm, quite bad too. Wait, I thought I told you guys to talk about something else. Pfftt!

Living in a place like Puncak Alam is really get on my nerves sometimes, especially during the weekend. It gets worst if you don't have any transportation to move around. Trust me, you do not want to live here alone. Anyway, in order to kill time, I keep myself busy watching shows like American Idol and America's Next Top Model (these two are my favourite) which is currently on their latest season. I watch them on YouTube. I love to see great singers perform and models walk the runway and pose for pictures, wearing a garment by well-known designers around the world. Seriously, there is nothing more fun than watching these shows.

~ American Idol 10 ~

My favourite for American Idol this season is Pia Toscano, Jacob Lusk and Stefano Langone but sadly Pia and Stefano had been eliminated due to lack of knowledge on 'how to choose a great performer' among the voters. It is obvious that Pia is going to win if she stays. Now I'm just hoping that Jacob can make it to top 2 or at least top 3. Oh, fyi, Pia has released her first single, entitled 'Don't Question Why', 2 days after her elimination. Do you see that people, composers are fighting over Pia. She's simply the best! =D

America's Next Top Model on the other hand, is airing its Cycle 16 now and my favourite among the bunch are Alexandria and Brittany. Although Alexandria acting like a b**ch at the beginning and towards the middle of the competition, she knows how to pose in front of the camera and act like a real model. She is not really see eye to eye with Brittany most of the time but they started to befriends with each other in the episode 7 if I'm not mistaken. So here it is, the summary for American Idol 10 and America's Next Top Model Cycle 16. Haha.

~ America's Next Top Model Cycle 16 ~

~ L-R, Alexandria and Brittany ~

Anyway, I am going back home tomorrow morning (yay me!) and I better get packed now. I hope to see a pile of durians the moment I step into the house coz I am craving for durians like so bad. Okay guys, until then. Ciao!

:: MELTECH 12th Anniversary Night ::

Salam to all my readers.

Finally, it's over! Last weekend, 1st of April to be exact, was a memorable and unforgettable night for me. For the past 4 months, I have been waiting for this time to arrive. Maybe to other people, it just a simple and ordinary dinner but to me, as the director of the event, it indicates how good I am at organizing an event.

MELTECH annual dinner got several modifications regarding to its objective and purpose of organizing it. Usually, we have an annual dinner just to celebrate those who are in final year and to mark as the last event of a particular year. For this year annual dinner, I have decided to make it more meaningful so I changed the purpose of the event from annual dinner to celebrating the anniversary of MELTECH.

The event took place at Intekma Hotel & Resort, which is located somewhere in Section 2, Shah Alam. The theme, like I have said in a couple my previous entries, is Glam Night with Roses so people who came that night all put on a rose whether on their chests, or just make it looks like a bracelet or simply put it on top of your head. The event went, well, a lil bit late because of some mishaps here and there but looking from the face of the students and VIPs, I think they all enjoy the night, which give me quite a relief feeling. Even our dean said during his speech that he is amazed with the transformation we did on ourselves and went like, "Mase kat faculty, kamu semua nampak penuh 'kemakmalan' tapi malam ni, saya macam tak percaya bahawa kamu semua student saya,". Haha. See, who says student of health sciences don't know how to style?? :)

I wanna take this opportunity to address my gratefulness to Allah for giving me such an amazing journey and this experience is not something that you can get in class. It is not something that your teacher can teach you. I have gone through lot of difficulties in order to make this event a successful event and thanks to those who have been helping me, especially my team. You guys are my backbone and I'm so thankful to be working with wonderful and helpful people. If I be given a chance, I would love to do this all over again. It's so exciting!

I know you guys are eager to see what I'm wearing and what transformation we did on ourselves so, enjoys some of the pictures I include in this entry. I will be posting an entry full of pictures taken from the night so, stay tune for that ok. Until then, ciao!

:: Glam Night with Roses ::

Salam to all my readers.

I am two weeks away from my big night. It is the night where all students of Medical Lab Technology gather under one roof and getting to know each other, have fun and put aside their worry about test or assignments which are await to be finished. It is the night which I call as 'Malam Anniversary MELTECH 2011'.

As the program director for this big event, I have got so many things to settle within this short two weeks. This blog might be abandoned again for quite sometimes, until everything is done.

For the past a couple of weeks, I have been thinking of what theme I'm gonna do for this year. I have come out with Fairy Tales theme, Masquerade theme and a theme that my friend suggested, Back To School. When I first expressed my thoughts that I wanna do the Fairy Tales theme, most of the students, especially guys were taken aback and insisted me to choose another theme. After some deliberations and suggestion, I have chosen 'Glam Night with Roses' as the theme for this year dinner.

~ the poster ~

I know, I know, you guys probably scream and be like 'What the hell with the theme' or 'What's with the roses' but seriously guys, I think this is the most suitable theme as you can wear anything you want as long as it looks glam and not like you are going to class or something. And of course you have to pin a rose flower on your clothes. It's as simple as that. It is hard to please everyone in the course so if there is people who feel like this theme is lame or against to what I have picked for, you are welcome to express your thoughts and critics.

I would like to end my entry here but before that, to all bloggers, if you have any idea on how to make a dinner more lively and to keep it off the track of the ordinary dinner event, do type it in the comment box below. I'm new to this sort of thing so really need your support and ideas. Thanks for sharing. Until then, ciao!

:: Friendship Week ::

Salam to all my readers.

Hey guys. Finally I manage to get my fingers dancing on the keyboard again. You guys won't believe how busy my life has been this few weeks. I've been going back and fourth from my home to faculty. So many things to settle. Apart from the things are MELTECH's stuffs. We're organizing an event called Friendship Week, where students and other people can buy stuffs like cupcakes, teddy bears, lollipops and chocolates from us, beautifully packed in 3 different packages, and they can dedicate it as a gift to their friends.

~ cupcakes, choc and teddy package ~

~ some of our products ~

This two weeks event is conducted by our own Entrepreneurship Bureau and it's getting a wide publicity and attention from students of UiTM Puncak Alam. Actually we are not a newbie in this kind of event coz MELTECH have been organizing Apple's Week and Cupcake's Week in the previous administration. The only thing different is Puncak Alam is 100x bigger than UiTM Jalan Othman so the Publicity Bureau needs to work harder in order to get more buyers.

Time is getting late and I have class tomorrow morning so, gotta stop rambling now. I have lots and lots of stories to tell you guys so, keep this page in view okay. Until next time, ciao!

:: 2 days before the big event approach ::

Salam to all my readers.

Just to keep my blog updated. This gonna a short entry because I haven't got time to blogwalk and rest, as the day for one of MELTECH's big events is approaching. Refer to my previous entry if you have no idea of what I'm talking about.

One of my duty before and during the event is taking students attendance but since I was born with a good heart (really??), I can't help myself from not helping myself with their duties. One of my friend is handling the prizes and gifts thingy and that is a real hard job to do. We went to as far as Chow Kit Road and Central Market to look for the suitable prize to be given at the prize-giving ceremony. We tried to find the cheap yet convenient prizes possible in order to avoid from over the budget. Yes, money is a true nemesis!

Okay, I think I should stop now. Need to get some sleep. Tomorrow is going to start early, which is something so hard to do, well, at least for me. Heh! Until next time guys, ciao!

:: UNIC and homestay ::

Salam to all my readers.

Oh Gosh, my blog is all dusty and rusty! Need a feather duster to clean this up. The reason why this blog was left unattended is because the last couple of weeks had been the craziest and busiest week ever. Wanna know what did I do? Go to the next paragraph.

I have been keeping myself busy MELTECH stuffs and oh-so-damn-annoying tests and again, MELTECH stuffs. Well, recently, MELTECH had organized a Konsert Motivasi with UNIC in conjunction with the celebration of our Prophet's Birthday or known as Maulidur Rasul. UNIC. Yes! UNIC, that well-known nasyid group. The concert took place at DK 500, UiTM Puncak Alam. I thought the concert was gonna be boring at first but as soon as I took my seat and listen to the UNIC's motivational talk and inspirational songs, that early thought fade away.

~ UNIC peforming ~

I never thought they were so funny and hilarious to watch. They looked like they were so comfortable up there, talking to us like we were their long-time friends. I have to admit one thing though, I didn't know most of the songs they sang that night but they sounded really nice, especially the song about our Prophet that touched my heart. They sang it right after they showed the story about the death of our beloved Prophet. Some of us were straining their tears from falling. Sad story.

~ the cheering crowd ~

Okay, now we move on to this one big project that me and my fellow MELTECH's exco are working on right now. It is called Program Khidmat Masyarakat (Homestay) 'Tautan Kasih'. This program is another big event beside the most anticipated annual dinner and there are a list of big companies and people involved in this event, which going to take place at Bukit Gantang, Taiping, Perak. This is the second time I join homestay program. The first one was held at Kampung Air Papan, Johor and it was a whole new experience for me coz I never joined anything like this before. I think it is going to be great this time as I serve as one of the supreme council member, even though I will be burden with lots of responsibilities.

We will be going there this 25th (Friday) until 27th of February (Sunday). If the last time we headed to South, this time we are going North. I think I won't be facing any difficulties to understand the dialect since my mom is from Penang. Hehe. Hey I have a lot to tell you guys but compressing everything into one entry is not a good idea so, gotta wait for the next entry to be written.

Until then, ciao! :)

:: I suck at the first date! ::

Salam to all my readers.

Ahh (sniffing fresh air).

Now I know what it is like to have all your stuffs get hold of yourself. Last week was quite a hectic week for me. Didn't get enough sleep for 3 days straight and I didn't even get the chance to pamper myself. I was kinda lousy in appearance and only God knows how much I wanted that week to end.

But now, I'm free. Yay! But not officially free coz I got test to attend tomorrow. Hahaha. Believe me, it's not I'm lazy to study but the subject is kinda boring and I want to make myself clear that we, medical students cannot go well with laws. Law-related subject is not for us. When we first attended the class, we were like, 'wtf are we listening to?', coz ohh, I rather take Tamil class than this one, seriously.

Hey, I have a question here that require your opinions and thoughts. You see, I have this low-self esteem issue going on inside of me. I'm not really an outdoor guy, meaning that I rarely make new friends and get social with them. I just have my friends here in Puncak Alam so whenever people whom I never met wants to see me, I will get nervous and anxious. I'll start to think of the day I'm going to meet the person, what I'm going to wear and what I'm gonna do with he/she on that particular day. My friends told me that I should be natural and just let it flows but it is a first meeting to I want people to have a good impression on me. Remember guys, first impression is always important.

Things get worst if the person I'm gonna meet is those who are born with golden spoon in their mouths. I'm easily feel intimidate or overawe by what they gonna wear, are they gonna be like those celebrities on the TV, you know, things like that. For example, you and your new friend are hungry and want to get something to eat. Your friend want to go to this super-high class restaurant which you will never ever go in there unless it is a treat from someone. You can easily said the theory that you will tell them the truth that you're not comfortable eating here or the place is not suitable for commoners like you but, when it comes to practical approach, it can get a little awkward. Trust me, I've been there before.

From this long funny story of mine I think you already know what my question will be right? So, if you got something to share, kindly click the comment button and write as long as you want. Hehe. I'm sure my readers are all intelligent and creative so there is must be something you wanna say about this. Please, do share. Until then, ciao!

:: theme dinner ::

Salam to all my readers.

Now that I had time to finish my new year entry after all the hustle and finally completed the stuff that keep me busy. You know how I hated to pack and then unpack and pack again, urghh, maybe it looks therapeutic to somebody but definitely not me. Moving in into a new house require lot of hardwork and patience and trust me, you do not going through it all over again. It's torturing. Bought all the things like study table, wardrobe and bed and it costs more that i thought it would be. God, things now are so expensive.

As I'm writing this entry, we have safely approached January the 6th 2011. I don't have any specific new year resolution and I don't think I will be getting one since I don't really have a goal or anything to achieve but losing weight. Hahaha. Yeah, some people may look at me and say, 'You don't look fat, just chubby' but believe me when I say, I am sooo not comfortable living in this body right now. I think I deserve the better looking Judiene and so much effort need to be put to achieve the Judiene that I always wanted to be. MELTECH annual dinner is on April 2nd and I really really hope that I'm gonna be looking dashing and less weight that I am now. LOL.

Okay, ermm, that's not what I wanna talk about actually. To be honest, I don't really remember what's the core of this entry and I keep pausing every now and then, thinking what should i write. Ermm, oh yeah, I've been in a dilemma regarding the theme for the dinner and I have two themes with me that I am not sure which one is more suitable so, I think I'm gonna need ideas and opinions from all of you my rabid readers. Simple, just click on the comment link and write down all your thoughts. I really really need that right now.

The themes I would like to do is Hollywood Glam and Glam Bling-bling, which required students to wear something other than their usual baju kurung and baju melayu. They tend to wear these to any dinner they went and not even trying to wear something that go with the theme. I mean people invent for a reason - to have fun and playing dress up. It's a once-a-year event so why not spend some on the wardrobe. It doesn't have to be a RM100 dress for God sake, just something cool and different from what we used to wear. Seriously I really need them to stick with the theme and only wear baju kurung or baju melayu as their last resort.

~ I would love to wear one of these ~

Anyway, I got class tomorrow at 9.30am, Hematology class, which will be conducted by a new lecturer so hope she's gonna rock the class or I will be sleeping the entire time. Until then, ciao!

:: this is just the beginning of something great ::

Salam to all my readers.

Well, some of you might already know that I am the treasurer of my students association called MELTECH. For those who didn't know, you might wanna spend a minute reading through this.

Anyway, I've been assigned to organize the annual dinner of MELTECH and to be frank, I was quite nervous and slightly happy with the task I've been given. Firstly, if I should succeed with this project, it could be the highlight of my life here in UiTM. Secondly, I thought this task was quite risky and it's an event where all people are looking up to. It's annual. People must be talking if there is any mishap. But not to worry, with the help of my order, I'm willingly take this responsibility, with my head held high. Hahaha.

Okay, enough the that crap. Me and my friends had been searching for a suitable spot for this dinner and quite a number of hotels had been checked out for the past few weeks. Because I'm not from Shah Alam and the fact that I live in Kelantan really making me so tense and I had to rush this thing out. Finally we managed to locate a spot and after some deliberation with my order, we had decided to call the manager of the hotel and make a deal. I'm not gonna announce the name of the hotel since there's no black and white yet but after everything is settled, I'm gonna tell you guys.

Now I know it's not easy to organize a big event like this even though it's only 2% of the whole process. At this point, all sort of advices regarding this project are really really needed. I'm hoping that everything will turn out as planned and God, please make this work.

So guys, this is just the beginning and you can expect a lot of these in the coming entries. I'm gonna talk about and maybe ask your opinion on the theme coz I really wanna make something big and grand. Hope you guys aren't that busy to drop some comments or suggestion, later on the next entry. Until then, ciao!
