:: Putting my first footprint ::

Assalamualaikum to all my readers.

This weekend, we all are going to Pangkor Island to conduct an orientation course for the newcomers a.k.a. juniors SLASH freshmen. This outdoor event is organized by the student's association of my course, named MELTECH. If you don't know what MELTECH is, that means either you're new to this blog or you totally don't care about what I'd written here. Go check this out.

About 100 students are going to participate in this annual event and I'm excited because I've never been to Pangkor Island before and this time, I'm going there with my friends so, apart from being rejoiced by the activities that we are going to do there, I'm also feel extremely overwhelm to put my first footprint there. I've already made list of things that I need to bring. Haha. Can't wait.

About the event, it is named MELTECH Scene Investigation (MSI) Volume 2 and we feel like to keep that name as the official name for our orientation course since it's done annually. Usually the event takes place somewhere in Selangor or Kuala Lumpur but this year, we feel like doing something big, something different and memorable for those newcomers (and also for us, the organizer) so we chose Pangkor Island as the venue. Since this is the first time we're doing this outside of Selangor, our concern are totally on the security aspect and the welfare of all the students who join. We really hope that everything is going to go as planned and may Allah save us from any harm before, during and after the event. Finger crossed! :)

:: Batting Cages ::

Assalamualaikum to all my readers.

Howdy people! Today marks the first day or second day, I don't know, of Zulkaedah month. Meaning that Syawal has left us devastated. Why devastated? Because there'll be no more open houses, no more free food and most importantly, no more, ermm, free food. =.="

Last weekend, me and my friends got invited by my other friend to her open house, somewhere in Petaling Jaya. I don't really remember what the name of her housing area is but she lives at the apartment area near the, ermm, okay, I forgot again. But, that's not what I want to highlight in this entry. Read on to see what I did right after we left.

We went batting at Batting Cages, One Utama. It's like playing baseball, minus the wide field and there is a machine throwing balls in front of you. We were dilemma at first whether to watch movie or play at the Batting Cages we chose batting due to majority votes. And I have to say, this game really got me 'high'. When I was a kid, I used to play this kind of game with my friends but we were using any big, hard wooden stick as the bat but that was a long time ago so, getting this opportunity to play it again really brought memories. 

My first game was a disaster. I kept mishitting the ball and to make it up for it, I bought another token and played the game for the second time. Still, disaster. But we had fun. Laughing at each other's mishit and cheering for every ball that we managed to hit. It was a lot of fun. You guys who never been to this place before, well I recommend you to come to this place and try it for yourself. This is also a good place to let out your rage as you can hit the ball as hard as you want. Other than that, enjoy these pictures! :)

:: Open house ::

Assalamualaikum to all my readers.

The glorious month of Syawal is going to come to an end in 1 weeks and I am sure that within this period of time people are looking forward to attend as much as open houses as possible. Not to mention wedding invitations.

Living life as a common guy, I didn't get a lot of invitations to go to any open houses or wedding ceremony. Not that I wish people would invite me but it's nice to be invited and eat nice home food once a while. Speaking of that, I went to my friend's house yesterday in Shah Alam. I was quite excited since her mom and herself is a good cook so, I was looking forward to see what was there to be eaten. She served us Nasi Ayam which to me and other guests, was insanely delicious. It looked like any Nasi Ayam you can find at night markets or stalls but the taste was different. There was definitely something special in the dish. So G double O D good!

I'm living in a residential area here in Puncak Alam and there are quite a number of houses that organizing open houses but sadly we don't get invited to any of the house. We're students so, of course we'll be delighted to go because, well, who doesn't want free food right. At least I do. Okay, here I wanna share with you guys some of my moments taken during my visit to my friend's house. Actually, these photos are uploaded just don't wanna make this entry look dull and boring. Don't know whether it works or not enjoy them!

:: Teaching UPSR candidates ::

Salam to all readers.

There is something apart from myself telling me that I wanna be an educator when I grow up. The funny thing is, I haven't aware of this until I realize how tough this world can be if you don't have solid vision in life and that happen after I graduated from high school. My mom had told me hundreds of time to enrol in any Institut Perguruan in Malaysia but I refused because I thought being an educator was not going to make me rich. That was because I didn't see the big picture and now, I kinda regret for not following her advice.

So, after all this years, an opportunity to become an educator suddenly reappeared and came to me. My former headmistress had invited me and my friends to be Assistant Teacher (not teachers' assistant) for a day and obviously it involved teaching. The objective of this program is to help students who has not doing a good job with Maths and give them a personal tutor. 10 volunteers, including me, had joined the program the students seemed delighted to see their seniors and shared some of our stories during our days in the school with them. 

We were sitting opposite them, on the stage, beautifully decorated and introduced ourselves one by one as well as telling them the proper way of studying and how to focus in the Maths subject. To be honest, I was quite nervous talking in front of them, mostly because I didn't expect to give a speech. I thought we were gonna come and just get into the class but apparently not. I tried to crack a few jokes but I thought I was making fool of myself. After a terrifying welcoming speech, we helped the teachers giving out questions papers and walked around the hall to see if somebody needs our help. A student suddenly called upon me. I walked toward him and asked what he didn't understand. To my surprise, he actually couldn't read, let alone to count.

I didn't panic, astonishingly, and thought to myself, it's time to get my hand dirty. I taught him to understand what's the question want and I taught him how to count. Seriously, it was like teaching a kindergarten student. When I let him do the next question, he was struggling with the words. I saw him staring at the question paper and I was touched. To see him in that state, few months before the UPSR exam was really unbelievable. Don't know how he's gonna pull it off during the exam. I wish him good luck. He really needs it.

To me, this experience is priceless. Not only is it brought memories but also it motivated me in some kinda ways. I really wanna help them but we were running out of time and hope that the teachers could do something like this more often. I wanna give back to the school which has make me a person I am today.

:: Seru & Fast Furious 5 ::

A few days ago after me and my friends were done with the final exams, we went to Times Square the next day for a movie spree. We watched one Malay movie and one English movie entitled Seru and Fast Furious 5 respectively. At first I was reluctant to watch Seru since my first choice was Thor and been reading the reviews saying that the movie is great and stuff so, the eagerness to watch Thor was high. But then, majority of my friends wanted to watch Seru so, i just follow the crew. Thank God it was Wednesday so, the ticket didn't cost me much.

After watching it, all I could say is, Seru wouldn't let you down. The idea of the movie might resemble Spanish movie REC where a person is possessed by a spirit and cause chaos and the cinematography in the movie is 100% from the victims camera. They use shaky camerawork instead of using the camera ordinarily use in a film-making. If you have watched REC before then you know what I'm talking about. I give 4 stars out of 5, means that Seru had successfully startled me just like REC did. Shaarnaz Ahmad and Nisha Dirr who starred in the movie, acted effortlessly and for a moment there, I thought I was gonna believe that it was a real story. Kudos to them and the crew!

The next movie that I watched was Fast Furious 5 and man, it was superb! You guys definitely had watched the other series of Fast & Furious and know exactly what the story is all about so, I shall not re-telling you the story. We managed to catch this movie one day earlier than its scheduled screening time so we were like all giddy and excited. I am happen to be a fan of this movie franchise and I tell you what, none of the series fail to impress me. Everything that happen in the movie seem to give me and the audience that I sat with gasp, laughter and some of us even gave an applause when the movie end.



For the acting part, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson plays his part brilliantly. His role is not serious and not funny either. He sometimes uttered a line that gained the kinda rapturous response, even though the line should be said in a serious tone. Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and others, they all played their role as good as the previous series.

I suggest you guys to start your engine car, go to the cinema near you and catch both Seru and Fast Furious 5 coz these movies are worth every penny. This is only my point of view after watching them and if you guys wanna do the same, just drop your links so that I can give your blog a visit and read your reviews on these two. Happy watching! :D

:: MELTECH 12th Anniversary Night ::

Finally, it's over! Last weekend, 1st of April to be exact, was a memorable and unforgettable night for me. For the past 4 months, I have been waiting for this time to arrive. Maybe to other people, it just a simple and ordinary dinner but to me, as the director of the event, it indicates how good I am at organizing an event.

MELTECH annual dinner got several modifications regarding to its objective and purpose of organizing it. Usually, we have an annual dinner just to celebrate those who are in final year and to mark as the last event of a particular year. For this year annual dinner, I have decided to make it more meaningful so I changed the purpose of the event from annual dinner to celebrating the anniversary of MELTECH.

The event took place at Intekma Hotel & Resort, which is located somewhere in Section 2, Shah Alam. The theme, like I have said in a couple my previous entries, is Glam Night with Roses so people who came that night all put on a rose whether on their chests, or just make it looks like a bracelet or simply put it on top of your head. The event went, well, a lil bit late because of some mishaps here and there but looking from the face of the students and VIPs, I think they all enjoy the night, which give me quite a relief feeling. Even our dean said during his speech that he is amazed with the transformation we did on ourselves and went like, "Mase kat faculty, kamu semua nampak penuh 'kemakmalan' tapi malam ni, saya macam tak percaya bahawa kamu semua student saya,". Haha. See, who says student of health sciences don't know how to style?? :)

I wanna take this opportunity to address my gratefulness to Allah for giving me such an amazing journey and this experience is not something that you can get in class. It is not something that your teacher can teach you. I have gone through lot of difficulties in order to make this event a successful event and thanks to those who have been helping me, especially my team. You guys are my backbone and I'm so thankful to be working with wonderful and helpful people. If I be given a chance, I would love to do this all over again. It's so exciting!

:: Gunung Tok Wan ::

On the previous entry, I talked about how tiring and how suffering I was to climb the Gunung Tok Wan, and how I nearly give up from continuing my journey up to the peak. This second part of the journey, I'll be talking more about our journey down the mountain and how dangerous the journey was.

After spending sometime on the peak of Gunung Tok Wan, we decided it is time to go back before it's getting dark. We were quite regenerated so the way down the mountain was less tiring. The only challenge we encountered were when we climbed down the steep slope of Broga Hill and the weather was really extremely bad. It was hot and dry, as if the sun was on top of our head. The steep slope made it even harder to climb down.

We were all thirsty and tired and the only thing we knew was to reach the bottom as far as we could coz the heat was unbearable. So we faced all the hardness down the hill and as soon as my foot touched the ground, I was like, "I'm not coming here again." Well at least at this hour. So officially, we started off our journey at 10 or 10.30 am and finished at about 4 pm.

Now I can proudly say, I've made it to the peak of Gunung Tok Wan!!!!

:: The Tiring Journey of Tok Wan Mountain ::

Yesterday was so tiring! Really, I'm not gonna lie. Me and other 40++ students of MELTECH went to hike at Gunung Tok Wan, 3.1 km further than Sheik Muzaffar made famous, Broga Hill. I don't know the exact location of Gunung Tok Wan but if you can make it to the top of Broga Hill, surely you can see the signboard of Gunung Tok Wan.

This mountain I'm talking about, it's not an ordinary mountain. Well, at least for me. A week before this event, me and my buddies went hiking at a hill (I already forgot what's the name of that hill) at Kg. Donglai, Sg. Congkak and although it was slippery, muddy and stuff, there's nothing compare to my hiking moment at Gunung Tok Wan. Apart from the slippery thingy, this time, it challenged more of your inside. The way up to Broga Hill was challenging and quite dangerous I must say, regarding to its steep slope.

We started off our hiking at approximately 10.00am and the track before we reached the foothill of Broga was totally fine with me but the way up to Broga was quite challenging since I am fear of heights. The slope was so steep that I climbed up the hill without even looking down and I started to feel dizzy. My mind was telling me not to look down and fortunately I managed to get on the first hill. The moment I touched the ground of the peak, I feel like, "Thank God I'm still alive." It was a so nerve-wrecking experience.

We thought we have made it to the peak of Gunung Tok Wan but as soon as we realized that it was the peak of Broga Hill that we were standing on, all of us went like "What!!!!". It turns out that Gunung Tok Wan is 3.1 km further. We continue our journey and along the way to the peak, there were moments where I feel like giving up and turn back. The route was sooo long as if there was no ending. After about 2 hours, we finally reached the peak and wtf! The peak was nothing like what we have imagined. It was dirty and there was no beautiful scenery that we could see.

:: Homestay: The Review (Part 1) ::

Hey y'all. I'm back with so many stuffs to talk about. As I promised, I will share the moments of my homestay program which me and my MELTECH's students went to last week. Okay, lets go straight to the point. But I warn ya, there is gonna be lots and lots of pictures in this entry.

Total students who joined the event is 120 and we started off out journey to Bukit Gantang, Taiping at around 10 o'clock in the morning with our sleepy faces, as some of us didn't manage to get some sleep the other night, busy packing things. We arrived at the main site of Bukit Gantang homestay at 3 pm and we were happily welcomed by the villagers as they stood up in line waiting for us with wide smile carving on their faces. Soon we were divided to foster family and each family got 5 to 6 foster children. Wanna see my foster family? See the picture below.

On the first night there, we and our foster families went to a hot spring, sorry I don't know what they call that place, but it is a hot spring. At first, I thought it was a big lake with hot water coming down from a pipe or anything but it was not like what I had imagined at all. The place is divided into two area, the first area is where we fill up a bucket with hot water and put our feet in it whilst the second area is a pond, and you can swim or just immerse your feet in it. Basically we didn't do anything much on the first night, except for this, we went home and got to know our family better.

The next day, which is Saturday, was where the opening ceremony, blood donation, health exhibition and free medical check-up for the villagers took place. It started in the morning and ended at 2pm. Quite a hectic and packed schedule I must say, coz people keep coming to our exhibition like there's no tomorrow. There were also students from schools around Taiping that we invited to play some games and participating in colouring contest. It was fun to watch the kids having some fun with the stuffs we had prepared.

:: homestay: the sneak peak ::

Hey yall! I'm home! Ahhh, it feels so good to be back. Well, I haven't been online since the first day I started my wonderful journey to Bukit Gantang, Taiping coz I didn't bring my laptop and I'm not some kind of internet-addict who get online 24/7.

I just woke up from bed and the first thing that come across my head is updating my blog with the latest stories. In order to do that, I need pictures from the event, which was captured by two most professionals photographers MELTECH has ever had, Azwan and Faiz. Unfortunately, they are still busy with the editing, maybe they wanna upload them on MELTECH's facebook fanpage or anything so, gotta wait a little while before I can post them here.

But here's a sneak peek about what you going to read later. First off, this service community homestay program was one of the biggest achievement MELTECH has ever achieved because everything went smoothly according to the plan, from the very beginning until the very end, which is something that we have been praying for. I don't know about you guys but I'm excited to share this with y'all because this is one of my sweet memories that I will never ever forget. Hehe.

:: I suck at the first date! ::

Ahh (sniffing fresh air).

Now I know what it is like to have all your stuffs get hold of yourself. Last week was quite a hectic week for me. Didn't get enough sleep for 3 days straight and I didn't even get the chance to pamper myself. I was kinda lousy in appearance and only God knows how much I wanted that week to end.

But now, I'm free. Yay! But not officially free coz I got test to attend tomorrow. Hahaha. Believe me, it's not I'm lazy to study but the subject is kinda boring and I want to make myself clear that we, medical students cannot go well with laws. Law-related subject is not for us. When we first attended the class, we were like, 'wtf are we listening to?', coz ohh, I rather take Tamil class than this one, seriously.

Hey, I have a question here that require your opinions and thoughts. You see, I have this low-self esteem issue going on inside of me. I'm not really an outdoor guy, meaning that I rarely make new friends and get social with them. I just have my friends here in Puncak Alam so whenever people whom I never met wants to see me, I will get nervous and anxious. I'll start to think of the day I'm going to meet the person, what I'm going to wear and what I'm gonna do with he/she on that particular day. My friends told me that I should be natural and just let it flows but it is a first meeting to I want people to have a good impression on me. Remember guys, first impression is always important.

Things get worst if the person I'm gonna meet is those who are born with golden spoon in their mouths. I'm easily feel intimidate or overawe by what they gonna wear, are they gonna be like those celebrities on the TV, you know, things like that. For example, you and your new friend are hungry and want to get something to eat. Your friend want to go to this super-high class restaurant which you will never ever go in there unless it is a treat from someone. You can easily said the theory that you will tell them the truth that you're not comfortable eating here or the place is not suitable for commoners like you but, when it comes to practical approach, it can get a little awkward. Trust me, I've been there before.

Day Out - Paranormal (Part 2)

What happen to my blog?? All dusty and rusty. Sorry for the long hiatus guys. Does anyone miss me? Well, it would be like someone give me a briefcase contains 1000k if you guys miss me. Huhu. Ok, shall I continue with my Bukit Cerakah Part 2? Honestly I thought this story is molded and I don't really have the soul right now to update my blog so I'm gonna make this short and simple but lots and lots of pictures, hopefully.

After we're done with all the activities at Bukit Cerakah, it is time to say good bye. Before we left, we had this little discussion on what to do next. Some said let's go home but majority of us chose to catch a movie. So, we changed our sweaty outfits into something appropriate for the movie, started the engine and off we go to Sunway Piramid.

We watched Paranormal Activity 2 . Me and those who had watched Paranormal 1 last year were all excited since we know what to expect in this second installment. Definitely more scary stuffs. The beginning of the movie was nothing and my friends who didn't watch Paranormal 1 gave me a boring expression and went like what's with the movie, keep showing the same thing over and over again (They were referring to the pool and kitchen scenes). I just stay silent coz they hadn't watch anything yet.

About half way through the movie and after all the scary incidents happen at the house, now they knew that this is a serious shit and I could hear them screaming at the suspense part. Paranormal 1 really scare the hell out of me and this second installment was well, scarier. I don't know about others but to me, this shit is damn scary, even scarier that Syamsul Yusof's Khurafat because we can't see the ghost or the demons and that what makes Paranormal 2 stand out. By the way, Paranormal 3 is scheduled to be out somewhere in October this year. Stay tune.
