As I mentioned on my previous entry, I'm gonna be talking about David Archuleta and it's not about his cuteness that will be my subject here. Instead, I wanna highlight his concert which was held on July 27, at Stadium Negara.

If you're expecting me to upload some photos taken during the concert, no, I will not be doing that. That is because, I wasn't there. Meaning, I missed his concert. It's kinda frustrating when you really wish that you can achieve something, but then it turns out not. I know I couldn't afford the ticket price because it was too expensive, so I tried another alternative. I literally had joined almost every contest that I know, that has his concert ticket as the prize but I guess I'm not lucky enough to be picked as the winner.

The organizer also had given out Meet & Greet passes for lucky fans during the ticket pre-sale ceremony at Berjaya Times Square which was really awesome for those who got the passes. It's the key to meet David up close and personal. You can see him, face to face, have a photo taken with him, OMG, that's awesome. I can only imagine how nervous they were before meeting him. If I were there, I would be like, wrote down of what I'm gonna say to him, you know, in case you got stumble on your words.

Anyway, I have this one video of David singing Heaven, originally by Bryan Adams. To me, his singing was so intense, full with emotions and he sounded beautifully. I fall in love, not with him, but this video. Damn, he is so good.

I'm actually not in the mood to post any entry here but I have to post this thing, since it's the most happiest news that I've ever heard for the past few days. David Archuleta is coming to Malaysia this July. And this time, he's gonna perform for a full concert, live at Stadium Negara.

I was extremely happy and pleasure when I first saw the news on the Sony Music Malaysia facebook. This is the chance for me to see him performing live in front of my eyes and I know I've got to be there. But before I could be happier, the list of the ticket price was officially announced and I was feeling slightly devastated over the news. And then I came back to the reality. How on earth, I'm going to afford the ticket? I have no job, my PTPTN loan has gone and I don't think my dad would be glad if I come to him and ask for the money.

The last time he came down here, he did a showcase at Sunway Lagoon and I was dying to get the pass for the showcase. I still remember the day before the showcase take place, Sony Music had this pass giveaway thing going on within a limited time and we were suppose to call them and asked for the pass. I was in the middle of a lecture that day and my hand couldn't let go off my phone. I tried to call the Sony Music but it couldn't get through. So when David is going to come here again and i thought, I must not let this chance slip away. But then, tsk, I have no idea how to get the ticket.

There's only one way to get the ticket free of charge. I have to tune in to Fly FM everyday until the concert day, waiting for the giveaway. I think this is the only way, unless there is a generous and flush person out there who willing to sponsor me a ticket. If there is, I promise I'd do anything to you. Please! This is a serious matter. No joking. 

:: The winner of American Idol is.. ::

My heart was pumping so fast as I waited for Ryan Seacrest to announce who is gonna win the American Idol Season 10. I can't believe it was down to Lauren Alaina and Scotty McCreery. I watched the whole audition episodes and still remember Steven Tyler called Lauren as 'The One'. At that time, I didn't even think that Scotty would make the cut and advanced into top 13. Both contestants have put in their best last night at the performance show and as the result show comes to the end, Ryan finally announced that the winner of American Idol is Scotty McCreery.

I am gutted and my dream of seeing female contestants be crowned as the American Idol tear into pieces. It's not that I don't like Scotty at all. In fact I do enjoy his performances every week but to win something as big as American Idol, you need to have at least strong voice and I don't think Scotty has that. It's obvious that Lauren was one of this season's best singers and if its based on the shows that they did the night before, Lauren did better than Scotty and therefore she should win the title.

Remember what Jennifer said during Lauren's performance of 'Like My Mother Does'? "This is a very tight race tonight but Lauren, with that song, you may have just won.". You interpret this sentence. The same thing happened last season where Crystal gave a really stunning performances than Lee did but in the end, it was Lee who won the show.

I guess my words wouldn't change anything would it? So, if you read my blog Scotty (which I'll be extremely happy if he did even though I'm against his winning), I just wanna wish ya Good Luck and don't worry coz Lauren will outsell you in terms of records sale. Haha.

:: Who will be the next American Idol? ::

The end is getting closer. Tomorrow, we will find out who is gonna walk away from the Nokia Theater Los Angeles as the new American Idol. Will it be Scotty McCreery or Lauren Alaina? Both are comfortable singing Country songs and they are the youngest top 2 ever in American Idol history.

On the first part of American Idol Finale, both Scotty and Lauren performed three songs, as you all already know. Scotty sang 'Gone', 'Check Yes or No' and his new original song, 'Love You This Big'. His contender, Lauren chose to sing 'Flat on the Floor', 'Maybe It Was Memphis' and a cover song from Kristy Lee Cook (previous American Idol finalist) entitled 'Like My Mother Does'.

I just told you guys the facts of the one-hour finale but the truth is, I think this is the dullest finale ever, right after Crystal and Lee duo last season. You see, both of them sing Country songs and I have nothing against the Country genre in fact there are some Country songs that I really like BUT this is different. I was kinda like saddled with six Country and Western songs that some of the songs was the songs that I never heard of. Thanks to Lauren for her ability to sing from her heart that made her last performance kinda brought tears to my eyes. It would probably be interesting if Haley is in the finale. At least we have two singers belt out two different genres.

But whatever it is, the finale has end and now it's up to the American to choose their next idol. If you ask me, hurmm, lets look at this chronology first. I wanted Pia to be in the top 2, but she got eliminated in top 9. Then, I put my trust in Haley and prayed so that she can make it to finale. Again, my dream was crushed. I am left with no choice but to choose Lauren to win because she got distinctive voice and she can sing high note pretty well.

So, lets wait for the result show to see whose name Ryan going to announce at the end of the show. They got so many singers going to perform on that night and damn, they neglected David Archuleta. I really hope they could call Archie to perform his latest single live. Damn it!

:: AF students can't sing English songs?? ::

I am a big fan of reality TV singing competition. I watch shows like X-Factor (XF), American Idol (AI), One in a Million (OIAM), Mentor and Akademi Fantasia (AF). Whatever you say folks but these kinda shows really got me glued in front of the TV and there was a moment where I talked to myself and went like, "I think I was born to be in the industry, you know, whether as a singer, songwriter or producer." Hahaha. What a funny thought is that.

Okay, I'm not sitting in front of my lappy just to talk about my unaccomplished desire of becoming someone in a entertainment industry or fashion industry (wth!) but there is another topic worth to talk about. If you watch AF, regardless of any season, there will be a time when the students are gonna be tested with an English song. I notice something 'unhealthy' going on, I don't know if you guys did too. Majority of the students will be like kinda frustrated or scared whenever they get English song to be sang. Some of them will just cry or express their anxiety regarding the song. Have you ever notice that??

Well, in my opinion, there is no reason to be like that coz we've been taught English since we were in standard one and the song doesn't require them to give out a speech or to talk in front of the audience in English, they just need to sing the lyrics out in rhythm. Basically that is what they do right, singing. You don't necessarily have to be 100% grammatically perfect to sing an English song. The words are there, written on the paper and all they need to do is just practice the pronunciation that's all. They even have Puan Fatimah Abu Bakar to help them with that so, no point to be frustrated or go in front of the 'talking' camera and say that you don't like the song and etc. This kinda shit is really not acceptable.

This incident happen to every season of AF. Even I remember how scared Mawi was when he received an English song entitled 'Beautiful Maria'. I'm sure a lot of AF fans will go against me on this one but in order to become a versatile and a good singer, being able to sing in English is a must! Do not spit on me for telling you the truth. The students should be ready to uptake whatever songs that they are given, no matter what language it would be.

:: X-Factor US 2011 ::

For those who is a fan of reality television singing competition called X-Factor, one will probably know that the creator of the show, top producer Simon Cowell is launching the US version of the show. It is based on the UK version of the X-Factor, which was where Simon served as one of the judges until its 2010 series. It is revealed that Simon departure from American Idol is because he wants to bring the show to America.

The US version of X-Factor has already kicked off its first audition on May 8th 2011. I am happy because finally Simon will be cooperating with his former American Idol judge, Paula Abdul as the judges for the show. The other two judges are L.A. Reid, a record producer and Cheryl Cole. Now, the weird thing is, I wonder why Cheryl wanted to follow Simon's footsteps and leave her role as the judge of X-Factor UK. She suits well as the judges there, and I don't think Americans are going to love her. She speaks with an odd slang and people might misunderstand her. I rather see Nicole Scherzinger or Kara DioGuardi as the judge. Or any other singers in US. I do like Cheryl but in my opinion, Simon has made a mistake by taking Cheryl into the judging line.

I'm eager to see what this show will turn out to be as two British and two Americans will served as the judges and from there I think we can predict how they going to blend with each other. I hope Paula and Cheryl will be a good friend while judging coz the latter seemed to have a problem if the other female judge (reads Dannii Minogue) outshines her, in all kind of aspects so, it's gonna be interesting.

Whatever it is, there are four contestants left on American Idol 2011 after Jacob Lusk leaves the show last week. Who's gonna be the next American Idol? Stay tuned to find out. :)

:: a mixture of singers and models ::

Sorry for the long hiatus. Been busy with my final exams and had not have any ideas to update. But today is different. For this semester, I only need to sit for 3 papers for the final and two has passed urmm, not very nicely. I screwed up one paper and I believe that I am not gonna do well this semester. Well, since when I go out of the exam hall with a happy face. *sigh.

Okay, lets talk about something else, but seriously, I keep thinking I am going to f*il this paper today. God, I am so scared! The carry mark for the final is only 30% but the one that determine whether I am going to f*il or not is final practical exam, which went, urmm, quite bad too. Wait, I thought I told you guys to talk about something else. Pfftt!

Living in a place like Puncak Alam is really get on my nerves sometimes, especially during the weekend. It gets worst if you don't have any transportation to move around. Trust me, you do not want to live here alone. Anyway, in order to kill time, I keep myself busy watching shows like American Idol and America's Next Top Model (these two are my favourite) which is currently on their latest season. I watch them on YouTube. I love to see great singers perform and models walk the runway and pose for pictures, wearing a garment by well-known designers around the world. Seriously, there is nothing more fun than watching these shows.

My favourite for American Idol this season is Pia Toscano, Jacob Lusk and Stefano Langone but sadly Pia and Stefano had been eliminated due to lack of knowledge on 'how to choose a great performer' among the voters. It is obvious that Pia is going to win if she stays. Now I'm just hoping that Jacob can make it to top 2 or at least top 3. Oh, fyi, Pia has released her first single, entitled 'Don't Question Why', 2 days after her elimination. Do you see that people, composers are fighting over Pia. She's simply the best! =D

America's Next Top Model on the other hand, is airing its Cycle 16 now and my favourite among the bunch are Alexandria and Brittany. Although Alexandria acting like a b**ch at the beginning and towards the middle of the competition, she knows how to pose in front of the camera and act like a real model. She is not really see eye to eye with Brittany most of the time but they started to befriends with each other in the episode 7 if I'm not mistaken. So here it is, the summary for American Idol 10 and America's Next Top Model Cycle 16. Haha.

A lil bit update of David Archuleta here. As you all know, 'Something 'bout Love' was his first single from his sophomore album, The Other Side of Down. It is a catchy with incredible hook and great production. It has radio hit potential, so David's team was not wrong when they chose the song as his first single.

Now, in early September, David had announced that 'Elevator' is gonna be his second single. The song is great too. Haha. Ok, lets be honest. I thought it was kinda a kiddy song when I first listened to it. But it totally changed my perception and after a few subsequent listen, I think it's catchy, fun and it feels like a little roller coster song. Hahaha. Or is it just me?? Whatever.


David also revealed that the third song, entitled 'Falling Star' would be released on October 28. I love this song so much, in fact it is one of my favourite songs in his sophomore album. But all songs are great and nice actually so, no need to list which is favourite and which is not. This song, everytime I listen to it, I can easily picture this track as part of TV series' or movie soundtracks. The melody and the production of this song is so lovely. Not to mention the lyric. Oh oh, you gotta check out his falsetto at the end of this so. Lovely!

Roughly said, it doesn't matter what song become the single because we all gonna love it. Just get his album and believe me, it's worth your money!

:: Fantasia - Back To Me ::

It's quite late to post about this album but I found it wasted to not telling you people out there about this so-called the best R&B album of the year.

Entitled Back To Me, a brand new album from the third winner of American Idol, Fantasia is filled with R&B, soulful and gospel-rooted like songs. I didn't like few of the songs at first but after taking time listen to this album over and over again, they are not bad actually. Let's take a look at the tracks.

I like Fantasia since American Idol and to me she has this unique vocals that make this album acceptable, no matter what people say about it. Some magazines quoted 'Back To Me' is an example of a great singer ruined by poor song choices. Yeah, I admit that most of her songs are 'heavy' and not aimed for teenagers who like Justin Bieber or Miley Cyrus kinda songs but it suits my taste and I really like it.

So far, my favorites are all except I'm Here and The Thrill Is Gone. All the songs are nice. I enjoy listen to all of it but the two that I just mentioned just now to me, not really show her ability to embed her vocals with raw emotion. I'm proud to be her fan coz she has truly blossomed into quite the diva. 'Back To Me' has Fantasia back at her best, despite all the controversy shrouding her life.

:: Crystal Bowersox Weds ::

The first runner-up of American Idol Season 9 (AI9) finally tied the knot with her long-time friend, Brian Walker, also a musician. The couples had their wonderful and glorious moments at Uncommon Ground, a Chicago restaurant, where they first met while performing at an Open Mic Night. Guest like finalist from AI9, Didi Benami and actor Lance Barber.


Back when she was in AI, she was quoted as saying that her then-boyfriend, Tony Kusian, whom she breaks up with just before the AI finale starts, is not man up yet and he will be soon man up but unfortunately for him, Crystal is not keen on waiting for that time to come. The break up seem didn't affect Crystal's life that much and she is now waiting to record her post-idol album anytime soon.

And to the delight of Lee Dewyze's fans, the AI9 winner will be releasing his debut album, titled Live It Up on November 16 but details and news about the album is already been leaked. Lee's album is expected to be engaging blend of rootsy pop, rock and folk, anchored by DeWyze's soulful, rough-edged voice. The album will be preceded by a single of a same name, which will be premiered on Ryan Seacrest's radio show this coming Wednesday.

finally, David's new music video is released. boy, he looks fresh and grown up. boy, the jacket he wore in this video is so cool and vintage and nice. ohh ohh, his hairdo. love his new hairdo. suit him perfectly.

although he just lip-sync through the entire video and no acting at all, but still i love it, because the people portrayed on the video are all smiling and after all, it's something about love.

p/s ~ David, if you happen to read this (i'll be going crazy if he really read my crap) i urge you to come down here and do a big-scale concert. huhuhuu~~

i am proud to say that on 1 June 2010, David Archuleta had release his first autobiography entitled Chord of Strength: A Memoir of Soul, Song and the Power of Perseverance. i must say, i am thrilled to have a copy of this book, so i have decided to go to the book store and check out the book.

it is a hardcover format, and there are lots of full-coloured photos in it. the price is RM87.20, which is quite expensive to me and i don't understand why they need to put the 20 cent. was it necessary? i don't know. but i think i will find a way to buy it, and that means find a part-time job or just simply ask from my parents. LOL

from what i read in the blog and editorial reviews, this book talks about David's experience through out American Idol, his life before and after the show, what had he learned from it and he even talks about his vocal paralysis, which scared him to death and made him take a break from singing when he was a little. apart from that, the book will inspire you to be who you are and be passionate to fulfill your dreams and not to give up. sounds like too many positive thing coming out from the book.

if you are his true fans, you must have this book. i mean looking at the reviews from the readers, this autobiography of David will not put you to sleep while reading it. it is very inspirational and intimate, and some say it feels like listening to David speaks. hahaha. but its not a haunted book, don't worry about it.

too early for a memoir, huh? i don't think so.

:: Lee is the new American Idol - a little review ::

finally, American has chosen Lee DeWyze as their new American Idol, which in my opinion shouldn't have won the show, coz, if you see the top 2 performances, it was clearly that mamasox has better chances of winning the show, but what to do, it's american who decide, not people around the world. i'm quite frustrated actually. hope crystal find my blog. hahaha.


to me, Lee's performances in top 2 were just OK, nothing different and most importantly nothing special. i prefer if fellow judges choose 'Hallelujah' to be sung in the top 2 show. see what Lee did with the song in top 3 show. fantastic! you know what, i read a music blog on Yahoo! and here what the blogger said on why Crystal can't win American Idol.

Season 9 on "American Idol" was supposed to be a girls' season. Randy Jackson, Kara DioGuardi, and even Simon Cowell all authoritatively decreed it so. Promising quirky-girl contestants like Lilly Scott, Katelyn Epperley, Janell Wheeler, Lacey Brown, and Didi Benami were all hyped early on as ones to watch and ones to beat. At one point, a Crystal Bowersox/Siobhan Magnus final showdown seemed quite likely. But sadly, "AI9" hasn't quite panned out in the females' favor. Most of the aforementioned girls all left the competition shockingly prematurely--including Siobhan, one of this season's most interesting, unique, and talented contestants. Now only one female, Crystal, remains in the competition, and despite her popularity, I fear she won't win this season. Season 9 will probably be just another boys' club, after all. I predict Lee DeWyze is going to win in the end, and this makes me sad.

and yeah, if it's based on the performances, Crystal absolutely was the brighter star on that night. i've been rooting for her all season long, and tonight she proved me right. all her performances including the sultry 'Black Velvet' were a sign that she's gonna win this whole thing. but then, the coronation song kinda took all the feeling away from me. i mean, it's a low-key song, i expect something like 'A Moment Like This' or 'I Believe' but it wasn't.


oh yeah! the finale was the emotional finale ever, with the tribute to Simon and Paula, full of surprises and not to mention all idols like the fresh-looking Kelly Clarkson, Fantasia and Ruben Studard and previous contestants were there (except for David Cook and several other contestants). i'm quite sure there's gonna be a tribute from the idols and see, my prediction was right. and Paula looks very sweet that night! talking about her lovechild with Simon, that really brought back memories from previous seasons when they were working together.

actually i prefer Michael Lynche to be in top 3, instead of Casey James but what's done is done. no need to complain or whining over something that already happened. right now, lets predict who will be the next American Idol. haha. to me, i root Crystal to win this, since she's different from any contestant who had won it. Lee is a bit similar to David Cook in my opinion, you know, their direction of music. only David looks more like a rock star than Lee.

but on top of that, i wanna see Simon Cowell in action for the last time on this show. as you guys know that he'll be leaving the show, to start his brand new US version of The X-Factor. no news on the replacement of Cowell yet but whoever the person is, the action of Cowell giving critics to the contestants with always be remembered. he got his own unique ways on doing the job as a judge which make the show even hotter and popular.

hope Ryan will stay as the host. Simon, you will be missed.

p/s ~ Congratulations Shahir on winning the AF8 last night. don't know whether he's a suitable candidate to choose but i guess everyone is equal.

:: Dinner and American Idol ::

as you all know (or maybe you don't know), i'm already in my hometown. it's great to be home. you know, seeing your family, taste your mom's cooking and all that kinda stuff, nothing can compare to that.

last monday i went to UiTM Puncak Alam Pre-Graduation Dinner, held at De Palma Hotel. it was just ok, nothing great except for one thing. we didn't sit on chairs that night, but we sat on floor instead. the theme was Warisan Sepanjang Zaman so, that should explain the way we sit. the food was 3/5 stars, i mean, it was malay heritage kinda food and i'm not saying that i don't eat malay food, of course i do but the taste didn't really show the standard of the hotel.



other than that, i think i should give credit to the emcee for reading my name correctly. yeah, i was called up on stage to receive Dean List certificate. finally. after 4 sems finally i got the chance. haha. ok, forget about my thing.

since i'm home, i get the chance to watch TV and i'm looking forward to see who will be the next American Idol. my fav in this season are Aaron, Crystal, Siobhan and Lee. Michael is great too but i just like him, but to win the show, i rooted for Crystal to win this. i miss Aaron's show. i mean he wasn't as great as Archuleta (his my fav of all Idols) but his voice is soothing and his personality kinda similar to Archuleta.

now it all come down to Crystal, Lee, Michael and Casey. honestly, i think either Aaron or Siobhan should be at Casey's position right now coz he only shines when he sings with his guitar. 2 weeks left and i can't wait to see who will win this. hope Archuleta will perform at the finale. hehe.

its not gonna be the same again. yeah, at least to me. that's bcoz she left me. unnoticeable. i just knew about the news when i read an article on Yahoo. to me, no one can replace her, she got her own style. the show will never be the same again without you Paula Abdul.

yes, i'm a die-hard fan of the no. 1 reality show in the world, American Idol. i started to follow the show when i first watched it back in 2004. the show was running its third season, and Fantasia Barrino was the winner of the season. as i heard, Ellen DeGeneres will fill in the position. i don't know what its gonna be but i'm definitely gonna miss the craziness that Paula brought to the show.

but one thing for sure, aku tak bleh tgk AI!!! arghhh! that's bcoz we don't have a TV at our rent house here and it's killing me. haha. i really like watching the audition bcoz that is where all craziness and funniest people gather to fulfill their dreams to be a recording artist. and that's also where we can see the tension in the judges as they facing people who ermm, not really know how to sing and pasan diri bagus last2 ayam berkokok pagi2 pn lagi best dari sre dowg. haha.

and one more thing, Ryan Seacrest! you're awesome dude. i don't think there's anybody can host AI the way he did - santai, tak formal sgt. he just simply one of the best host in US. or that's what i heard he is. plz keep him until the show come to its final season. huhu.

but you know what guys, Paula is not the only one who left Idol. news broke that Simon Cowell will follow Paula's step and this would be the last Idol with Simon. seriously, Simon is the charmer of the show. can't imagine watching Idol without his sarcasm, crazy and 'stupid' comment.

when i first saw the cover album of the runner-up of American Idol 8, Adam Lambert, i gasped and i thought it was a joke, or at least an unofficial cover of his album. but it turns out that the cover is really the official one and i don't know whether to laugh, to cry or to amaze. apparently, Adam wasn't kidding when he once told press in US that his debut album would sound "as if a '70s time-capsule blasted off into space and you're watching it through a holographic filter" coz For Your Entertainment is gonna look and sound like it.

some say that the cover look very much like him, you know, the glamrock thing plus the eye liner and they would really like this cover. while the other say that this is the worst cover ever done by the Idol alum and they would be embarrassed to carry this cover up to the cash register. if you guys ask me, hmmm, apart of me love it and the other part just can't accept it. but who cares about the cover seriously, if the songs are all good, then why not to love it, right?? well, here are the tracks :

owh, btw, i'm so frustrated that David Archuleta didn't make it into the Best New Artist category in Grammy Award this year but the other david did. i mean David Cook of course and i hope he's gonna win.
