The X-Factor UK 2010 has drawn on its curtain on Sunday night after crowning its current winner, Matt Cardle, 27 years-old from Colchester, Essex. Cardle performed When We Collide, cover of Many of Horror by Scottish rockers, Biffy Clyro. He was mentored by Dannii Minogue, she was quoted as saying, "He totally deserves it. Rebecca was incredible competition tonight. He didn't really believe he had it."
Accepting her defeated graciously, Rebecca Ferguson, who was mentored by Cheryl Cole said, "I'm so happy, so grateful and Matt's amazing. I'm just so happy to have got this far." This time, Cheryl lost to her rival mentor, Dannii Minogue after successfully winning this competition for the last two years with Alexandra Burke in 2008 and Joe McElderry last year. She was almost in tears and was given a massive boost by her Girl Aloud bandmates.
Third place goes to the only group left in the competition, One Direction, who was mentored by X-Factor supremo, Simon Cowell. The group performed 'Torn' originally by Natalie Imbruglia and was eliminated earlier on result show and Simon was so gutted for them, saying that this is not the end of these boys. I think Simon was not the only one who feel that way, myself included.
To be honest, I would love to see One Direction win because it reminded me of the earlier start of Backstreet Boys and they deliver great performances every single week but a source saying that these boys will be handed a recording deal, maybe from Simon's production company.
